Who we are:
LakayTimoun is a faith-based organization committed to serving single mothers and children in Saint Michel de L’Attalaye. We exist to provide them an opportunity to have a new life through the knowledge of the love and salvation available to them through the work of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on the cross. We want them to know that only the Lord can free them from bondage and discourage the departure of these children towards the large cities where they will end up living on the streets. We provide physical, emotional and spiritual care for orphans, single mothers and their children in order to diminish child prostitution and child begging.
Through the power of the Holy Spirit we instill in each child a love for the Lord and pride in their country, ensuring access to proper education, medical care, and freedom to enjoy their childhood without fear or burden. We also desire to develop a bond between these children and their communities in order to encourage children to invest in their communities as adults, combating the mass migration to urban areas and the growing phenomenon of city slums.
Mission:
Our mission is to serve and strengthen single mothers and children and share with them the love of Christ that they may experience the redeeming power of His love. LakayTimoun exists to provide opportunities for these mothers and children not only to come to a saving knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ but to be an encouragement for them to engage their new faith. Leaning on the biblical principles instilled in each one will serve to encourage them to face every day challenges. They will receive also professional or technical training in other areas, their lives will never be the same after they leave.
Vision:
We exist to bring glory to God through the transforming of the lives of these mothers and children. We exist to let them know that the Lord Jesus came for the poor, the meek, the broken-hearted, the lame, the blind, the prisoner to set them free and that they may have life and have it abundantly.
Belief:
We believe in all the fundamental doctrines of the evangelical Protestant church.
We believe in the inerrancy of Scripture, that the Bible, Old and New Testaments, is the inspired, infallible Word of God.
We believe that God is eternally existent in three separate persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
We believe that Jesus Christ is fully God and fully human, that He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, provided for the atonement of our sins by His vicarious death on the Cross, was bodily resurrected by the power of the Holy Spirit, ascended back to the right hand of God the Father, and ever lives to make intercession for us.
After He ascended to Heaven, Jesus poured out His Holy Spirit on the believers in Jerusalem, enabling them to fulfill His command to preach the Gospel to the entire world, an obligation shared by all believers today. We endeavor to follow Him in our daily live.
We believe that all people are by nature separated from God and responsible for their own sin, but that salvation, redemption, and forgiveness of sin are freely offered to all by the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. When a person repents of sin and accepts Jesus Christ as personal Savior and Lord, trusting Him to save, that person is immediately born again and sealed by the Holy Spirit all his/her sins are forgiven, and that person becomes a child of God, destined to spend eternity with the Lord.
We believe that God created man and that He created them male and female. As such He created them different so as to complement and complete each other. God instituted monogamous marriage between male and female as the foundation of the family and the basic structure of human society.
We believe in the endless lake of fire for the unsaved.
We believe and wait for the pre-tribulation rapture of the church. We are strongly committed to a belief that the church will be raptured before the seven year tribulation period described in Revelation chapters 6 through 18.
We believe that the second coming of Jesus Christ with His saints to rule on the earth will be personal, pre-millennial, and visible. This motivates us to heartfelt worship, committed service, diligent study of God’s Word, regular fellowship with other
